Do I need a Standard or F-Spaced pickup?

DiMarzio full-size humbuckers are available in two different spacings for better string-to-pole piece alignment. Guitar makers vary both their bridge and nut dimensions, and offshore production can also be different from USA versions.

Our F-spaced pickups have wider string spacing than our standard-spaced pickups. They’re typically used in the bridge position with a guitar having a Floyd Rose or Fender Tremolo-style bridge. However, they can also be used in the neck position some cases. DiMarzio recommends that you print out our printable String Spacing Template to make the best choice for your guitar.
